5 of the best Berber style rugs

It was quite a while ago that I posted my tips for buying a Beni Ourain rug in Morocco but it is still to this day one of my most popular posts and I still get regular questions about my rug. The neutral designs of Berber rugs has meant that it has become a style staple in recent years, and one that looks set to stick around a few more.

So, I thought I would do a little update on the five best faux Berber rugs (also know as Beni Ourain) available to buy at just the few clicks of a button or a stroll in to a store if you are that way inclined, to save you a trip to Morocco.

The 5 best look-a-like Berber rugs to buy

Afaw Shaggy Rug from La Redoute home

I had to start with this as the first rug as it is so FAMOUS! The lovely Erica Davies of The Edited first featured it in her home and it has become so popular, selling out six times since she mentioned it and even getting its own Instagram account. It is no wonder really as it is such brilliant value for money.

Price: £259 for 200 x 290 cm.

La Redoute also have a number of other very lovely rugs, including this one and this one, although to be honest I pretty much like all of their rugs especially how great value for money they are, and they have some gorgeous Scandi-style ones too.

AAAAnd they have a new collection of Berber rugs coming out in a few weeks time so watch this space!

Caliana Rug from Cox and Cox

This Caliana Moroccan inspired rug is cream and taupe and perfectly simple in its design with regular diamonds and a deep pile.

Price: £550 for 230 x 160 cm.

Black And Ivory Large Berber Rug from Graham and Green

This is black and ivory large Berber rug from Graham and Green is the closest to the real Beni Ourain that I have at home, featuring a simple diamond design in classic colours. It is available in large and small, and also bath mats sizes too if you want to take a bit of Moroccan chic in to the bathroom.

Prices: £650 240cm x 150cm for the large or £325 180cm x 120cm for the small.

Souk Wool Rug from West Elm

If you are looking for something a bit funkier, then this is your rug. The zig zag lines don’t quite reach creating a modern style rug.

Prices vary depending on size £499.00 – £849.00.

Soft Diagonal Berber Rug from Next

Available in four different sizes, this Soft Diagonal Berber Rug from Next is only £180 at its largest size so a good value option. **UPDATE – sold out but this one is just as good**

Will you be adding one of these Berber rugs to your home?

I am literally dying for one of these rugs but I fear they’ll be out of fashion by the time I can get my hands on one. Your selection is excellent, the one from Cox and Cox is at the top of my wish list thanks to you!
