AD | Dreaming of a Harvey Jones kitchen and reorganising my pantry larder

This post is in paid partnership with Harvey Jones

Have you come across Harvey Jones Kitchens before?

If you have seen an image of a beautifully stocked pantry larder, with oak lined shelves and rows of perfectly labelled spice jars then the chances are yes.

They have been creating beautiful, timeless, hand-made kitchens in their Cambridgeshire workshop for over 40 years and you can see their expertise shining through.

I love how understated yet beautiful their designs are. My heart lies with the classic designs such as their Original but I also adore their slightly more modern Linear range and was very tempted by this when I was designing my kitchen years ago. However, their newest offering is the Arbor – a mix between The Original and Shaker – it is pretty special too.

Visiting the Birmingham Harvey Jones Showroom

I was recently invited to the brand new Harvey Jones show room in the Mailbox, Birmingham.

They have all their kitchen styles on show and it is a veritable wonderland of kitchen inspiration! The kind of place that makes you want to run your (freshly sanitised) hand over all the work surfaces!

I love all the attention to detail with their kitchens from the oak or walnut cutlery drawers, soft-close drawers and clever storage solutions. I was more than a little bit smitten with the fridge drawers (!) and the beautiful worktops they had throughout.

The showroom is open during these crazy COVID times, even with Birmingham currently in Tier 3. It is best if you call to make an appointment  in advance to get one on one time with a designer and have the showroom to yourself, but if you find yourself nearby you can just pop in for a mooch.

You can find all the information and contact details for the Birmingham Showroom here.

The iconic pantry larder

But what they are most famous for is their iconic pantry larders. They are a thing of beauty!

I’m not sure what age it was, but at some point in my life I went from dreaming of a pristine designer shoe collection to a pantry larder. Tell me i’m not alone?!

The pantry larder in the Birmingham showroom was absolutely stunning. They are created bespoke for each customer to meet their needs and can include everything from wine racks to full height spice jar storage, coffee station, baking pantry or food storage – or a mix of all of the above.

All inspired, I came home and immediately set to work to clear out and reorganise my pantry larder.

I started by pulling everything out of the larder and having a good sort through. I am not going to lie, I found things in there from years ago!

I then grouped the items into categories so I could make them easier to find. Packets, tins, breakfast goods etc Everyday I spend far too long trying to find something in that larder and knocking things over to try and get to the items in the back.

I can’t take credit for finding the gorgeous labels myself. Kimberley from SwoonWorthy recently also organised her pantry and I adored the labels she used so ordered some for myself! They are from a little Etsy shop called Print Tailors. They have a few designs and they are wipeable.

I already had a load of the Kilner jars that I have amassed over the years and just needed a couple more large ones to decant breakfast goods in to. I also ordered these spice jars from Amazon to do away with the mismatched shop bought jars cluttering my spice racks.

And finally these storage trays are perfect for keeping items together and in order.

What do you think?

I am delighted with the reorganisation and just need to keep it this tidy now!
