A few weekends ago, Mr B and I went over to Cardiff to help celebrate a friend’s birthday. Before the party, we checked out one of Cardiff’s newest and most exciting restaurants - Burger and Lobster. The first in the UK outside of London, they serve up, ahem, burgers and lobsters for £20 each.

Easy-peasy lemon biscuits
These lemon biscuits are so quick and easy to make, you might say they are easy-peasy lemon squeezy.
Lost, found and a happy New Year
Happy New Year!
Hello hello hello! I know, you are asking where I have been.
Sorry for disappearing for a while there. I didn’t really plan to leave, unannounced, quite rudely with no explanation as to where I was going and when I’d be back. It just sort of happened.
Things had been getting quite a lot - like life in general, if you know what I mean. My day job has been a bit crazy, we are renovating another room in the house, family commitments, the cat getting run over, my Grandma passing away then my Granddad going into a home, Christmas looming etc and something had to give. Sadly, it was this blog that gave which is a shame because I love it here.
Now Christmas is out of the way, I have had almost two weeks off work, the lounge is kind of done - well the construction work anyway - and I am feeling more positive. I have had the chance to think about the things in my life that need to change, what I would like to improve and what’s really important to me - and I am coming to some conclusions.
In essence, I think 2015 is going to be a year of change for me.
One of the things I would like to improve, and possibly change is this blog. I can see how it could be so much better, but I wish I had more time or more energy after a long day in the office.
I think there are ways to improve it though, even with the limited time I have. Here are my thoughts:
More structured content - Before my disappearance, I posted whatever and whenever an idea came to mind. There’s no editorial calendar, no planned posts, not a lot of organisation. I think I need to be more organised and planned in how often I post, what days and about what…and then (try to) stick to it. Then you, as a reader, will know when to come over for something new.
Here are just some of the things I think I can improve on whilst carrying on with day-to-day life:
Improve my photography - I have a great camera that I barely know how to use. If I invest some time in getting to grips with it, I think my photography will really improve.
Figure out Google Analytics - which will mean I will discover problems before you do, and it should make navigating my site much better.
Improve some of my pages - such as the about me page, create a better contact me page and make it clearer what this blog is all about and what I want to do with it.
Become more focussed - I think the blog will benefit from a clearer theme. It is all there in my head, but perhaps not clear to a new visitor.
What do you think? What would be really great is knowing what you think would be good? Particularly what you like to see on here, and what you are not interested in?
I’d love to have your feedback.
In the meantime, I will try and implement some of the above. It might not happen quickly, but 2015 is the year for change, so something will happen!
ps I’d also love this new lens for my camera!
