The first few days in the Maldives rolled in to one. We explored our little island Maafushivaru from end to end, having lazy lie-ins, long breakfasts and lunches and doing loads of snorkelling.

Whilst I know some Maldives resorts are pretty fancy, this one was the epitome of laid-back luxury. There was no dressing up, and most guests didn’t put shoes on for a whole week - even to dinner. The staff were friendly and attentive, without being obtrusive and the island moved at a deliciously slow pace of life.
I wore relaxed clothes all week, preferring linens and cottons in simple styles over anything fussy.
