Interior inspiration for Pantone colour of the year 2017 – Greenery

Pantone colour of the year 2017 - Greenery

Pantone have come out with their prediction that the colour green, specifically Greenery,  will be the big colour of 2017.  They say:

“A refreshing and revitalizing shade, Greenery is symbolic of new beginnings.

“Greenery is a fresh and zesty yellow-green shade that evokes the first days of spring when nature’s greens revive, restore and renew. Illustrative of flourishing foliage and the lushness of the great outdoors, the fortifying attributes of Greenery signals consumers to take a deep breath, oxygenate and reinvigorate.”

Well, I think we can all get on board with that!

You’ll start to see this colour pop up all over the place now, from fashion, makeup and beauty, food and drink and of course, interiors. And if you know me, then you’ll know it is the latter that really interests me. Green isn’t the first colour I would think of decorating with despite the name of this blog, but it can be done ever so beautifully. Here’s some inspiration, from painting whole rooms green to adding a more subtle touch with some accessories.

Shop Greenery for your home

This subtly green console table would add a bit of industrial to your home,  whilst this stunning green velvet sofa would add instant glamour.

If you want to decorate with the colour, how about Little Greene’s Aquamarine which is a subtle shade with plenty of warm tones. I also love Pearl – Dark which is on the grey side of green and would fit beautifully into a scandi-inspired house.

In the kitchen, you could add some pops of green with this gorgeous Kitchen Aid in Pistachio, these cocktail glasses, or this green and gold dinnerware from H&M Home (hello two trends in one!).

Cushions are always a good option; try this lush looking velvet onethis palm leaf fringe cushion, this gold and green block cushion or this bargainous leaf print cushion.

And talking about leaf print, how about this gorgeous palm leaf print lampshade? Yum!

Don’t forget adding actual greenery in the form of plants will also tick the Greenery box! I am a fan of faux plants as I have an incredible tendency to kill every plant I come across (including a cactus?!). This potted olive tree is stunning , whereas this aloe is now in the sale and this palm leaf is an absolute bargain.

And if you really can’t bare to add any green to your interiors, how about this beautifully scented Jo Malone candle just to get in to the spirit of things!

Will you be adding some Greenery into your home?

This is a great post, I love a bit of greenery, spotted some great tropical print cushions in Primark before Xmas that would hit the spot for anyone who didn’t want to fully commit to the trend. Happy Sunday!
