Five favourite things

5 fav things 14 AprilHi friends. I am having a busy week finishing up in work, and mentally preparing myself for my new life. To be honest, my memory and organisation skills are not holding up too well!

Here are some of the things I have been looking at to take my mind off it all:

The pros and cons of working for yourself - on The Everygirl. After announcing that I have quit my job this was really interesting to read. The con I am most worried about is working on my own - I am a social person and worry about getting lonely. Any tips?

Reiss has been sold - on The Guardian.com. One of my favourite British brands has sold a majority stake to a US private equity firm to enable them to further expand overseas. Watch out overseas readers - something lovely is coming your way!

The Lively Show - all of the podcasts. I have become a little obsessed with Jess’ posdcasts and even spent two hours ironing on the weekend just so I could look like I was being productive when listening to them! As it turns out, my ironing was so bad, every item I have tried to wear has had to go back in the pile.

Elizabeth Gilbert: your elusive creative genius - on Ted.com. The author of Eat Pray Love talks about the trouble of being a creative and being labelled as a genius. She shares some interesting and emotive history too. As the above podcasts, I am loving Ted talks at the moment.

How to overcome stressful thought patterns - on The Elgin Avenue. The very lovely Monica from The Elgin Avenue talks about how we can become stressed and shares how she has learnt to identify and act upon the warning signs.

Hope you find something interesting or inspirational there. If you only have time to click one or two links, go with the Ted Talks or The Elgin Avenue - food for the brain.

Have a great end of week!

Claire x

Don’t worry, you won’t get lonely, you just need to learn how to balance everything 🙂

    Good luck 🙂
