Whilst we have been in our home for years now, we are still slowly chipping away at the decor, adding to each room little by little until one day *hopefully* we’ll reach a point where it looks somewhere close to finished!
We love the proportions of our airy Edwardian home, but what I hadn’t banked on when we bought it was large rooms = large walls = a lot of art and stuff! We still have empty rooms and a lot of blank walls, so when Desenio got in touch and asked if they could help fill some more spaces, of course I said yes – especially as it means a great discount code for you!
Desenio have a huge range of wall art and prints– so much so it can be a little overwhelming to make a pick. They do a pretty good job in helping you though as all the prints are in searchable categories such as botanical or photography and they also have a section called perfect pairings and inspiration where you can buy a whole gallery wall, already curated for you.
As you will probably already know, I am partial to a black and white print in my home (remember my search for these black and white prints here?). There is just something about the simplicity and timeless-ness of black and white art that I like, so that’s what I was thinking about when I was looking. It also meant I would be able to move them about my home when I felt the need for a refresh as they would work in every space.
My favourites were a mix of black and white photography and hand drawings. Here’s how I have styled them up in my home:
The utility room
I am just coming to the end of refresh of our little utility room. It had a lick of paint last year (although it now needs redoing after we had a new door fitted) and desperately needed a bit of interest. I went for simple line drawings of poppies in oak frames to being a bit of warmth in and tie in with the worktop. I’ll be sharing more of this room when I get the final details finished but until then here is a peek.
The porch
I love moving things around and switching things about so took the opportunity to refresh the art in the porch. I’ve mixed up a more abstract piece with a hand drawing of a hand and I like to juxtaposition of the two different styles together.
The Living Room
I absolutely love styling up the shelves in this room. They don’t half take some filling though! I picked this vintage car picture for Will as he loves cars – and I think it looks pretty snazzy in here.
What do you think? Do you like any of the picks I have made?
I’d love to see what you go for with your 25% off!
*It’s worth noting that the oak frames in the utility were from Desenio but I had all the other pictures framed locally.
The code “thegreeneyedgirl25” gives 25% off posters* between July 5th and 9th. *Except for frames and handpicked-/collaboration posters.
